Drama Workshop for NEETS, PRUs, and Young Offenders
Street Style Surgery has designed a superstar workshop to engage young people in vulnerable positions and guide them towards self-improvement, even after the show is over.
Our drama workshop is constructed specifically with hard to reach young people in mind. Because some youth face different problems than others, our drama workshop works with NEETS and young offenders to assist them in solving particular issues in their lives.
By demonstrating and then embodying the behaviours that will help them deal with their challenges, our workshop provides a foray into the foundations that will bolster development of healthy relationships, conflict resolution strategies and communication skills.
We also have drama workshops for schools to provide an interactive and educational experience for pupil referral units that are designed to work out similar points for young people attending school.
With an additional cost and some extra time, the arts award can be delivered through our drama workshops from the booking organisation. In tandem with any of our other workshops, such as (fashion design) or (creative arts and media), the attendees can experience a wide range of creative subjects in which to apply their potential and earn the arts award while fostering skills to use in their day-to-day life.
What happens in the drama workshop?
This drama workshop addresses specific issues often relevant in lives of NEETs, PRUs and youth offenders. Attendees will work on producing a play that can deal with a particular range of subjects like offending, substance misuse, and lacking interpersonal relationships. Through the play, participants learn correct and productive ways of addressing their personal issues.
What sizes does the drama workshop come in?
The workshop will take a minimum of 2 hours and can be extended to a day-long workshop. A longer project can be implemented for participants working towards achieving an arts award.
How many young people can the drama workshop accommodate?
The drama workshop can accommodate 10 young people with support from an appropriate number of staff. Up to 25 staff members in training can be incorporated into the workshop.
