Throughout the workshop, people will be led through the “Design and Make” process of a real fashion designer.  This will start with an introduction and mentor talk about the path I have taken and from past fashion business experiences to The Street Style Surgery.

The next stage is the initial design of participants' own item of clothing. They will use the available materials to inspire their creative minds and sketch their ideas down.  They will then work closely to their design ideas and produce a unique and personal item of clothing to be proud of.

At the end of the session, a garment costing will be produced in order for the young person to see how much the item was made for and could be sold for.

If time is available a mini photo shoot or fashion walk can take place in order to celebrate everybody's achievements.

Street Style Surgery Fashion Workshop – One hour – design fix

This will consist of an hour’s worth of fast fix creative design.  I will intorduce myself and my fashion history and discuss the aims of The Street Style Surgery.  I will then show examples of items of clothing that have been designed and customized within my workshops, in order to inspire them.  the particpants will then be introduced to the vast array of materials and equipment used to customize clothing in a street style.  Participants will spend the rest of the lesson customizing a blank square of fabric to give them an insight into what they could creatively achieve if they were to customize an item of clothing.

Street Style Surgery Fashion Portfolio and Fashion Sketch Workshop

This is a short introduction to portfolio and presentation skills.  It will begin with an explanation of my own portfolio and the different methods and ways of presenting artistic material to a high level.  It will also give the pupils a hands-on insight into fashion sketching, shading and illustration.  By the end of the lesson the pupils will all have produced a stylish fashion sketch, shaded with their chosen medium, ready for presentation.

This lesson consists of a PowerPoint presentation about my personal journey including the hardships I have overcome to arrive at this point.  Feedback has shown that it is highly inspiring and motivating and instils the ethos of never giving up and to always follow your dreams.
